Fingerprints off a golf cart? Vandalism?
The other night, a bunch of people broke into my golf course. They took 2 carts out on the lawn and had a joyride. 1 was found on the lawn near a sprinkler system that was spraying onto it. Another was found out on the lawn. The keys were in the ignitions (my mistake). I’m wondering if its worth the time and effort to have prints taken off the steering wheels. If these vandals were smart, they would have tried to wipe them off. If they did wipe the steering wheel, should i even bother? Keep in mind of the sprinkler system and that its a very busy course and we have many people using the carts daily.
Depending on the amount of damage they did, I would say no. Chances are they were kids anyway and the Chance of obtaining matching prints would be slim unless they have been in trouble before, but hey! you never know, if you have nothing better to do and they did umpteen thousands in property damage, take the prints and run them through AFIS.
