How would the new rules on wedges affect amateur and pro players?

Hi, I’m a golf sales who is worrying how the new rules would affect on wedges, because i have plenty of good wedges to clear out. Would it be legal if we do some grinding job on the groove? Why Callaway JAW wedges face and groove still looks not much different from the old one?

Not sure about Callaway clubs (don’t use them). For PGA Tour pros, they can’t use the old grooves as of 1/1/2010.

For amateur competitions (USGA/R&A), players have until 2014 to be compliant (non-conforming equipment purchased prior can be used).

Unless a player is using the clubs in a sanctioned event, they’re fine to use for now; i.e. someone playing a casual round…they’re fine in a practical sense.

The Golf Association of Ontario (my home association) has indicated they would follow USGA guidelines for our 2010 competitions.
