Why do you need fitness of any sort for Golf?

Try walking 5+ miles with elevation changes over a 4+ hour period while maintaining peak mental concentration and hand-eye co-ordination.

Now do it in heat and humidity.

Now, add on carrying a 20-30 pound bag.

Woods was the first golfer to really focus on being supremely fit. I would say he’s on to something.

As to the core training, much of it focuses on your golf muscles (back, legs, shoulders).
